Formación del superlativo de superioridad e inferioridad

El superlativo de superioridad se forma añadiendo -est al adjetivo o añadiendo la palabra most delante del adjetivo.

• Ejemplo con -est: The tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
• Ejemplo con most: That was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had.

El superlativo de inferioridad se forma añadiendo -est al adjetivo o añadiendo la palabra least delante del adjetivo.

• Ejemplo con -est: That was the worst movie I’ve ever seen.
• Ejemplo con least: That was the least interesting book I’ve ever read.

Uso del superlativo de superioridad e inferioridad

El superlativo de superioridad se utiliza para comparar más de dos cosas y destacar la que tiene la cualidad en mayor grado.

• Ejemplo: Sheila is the most talented musician in the school.

El superlativo de inferioridad se utiliza cuando se quiere destacar que algo está en el grado más bajo posible de una cualidad.

• Ejemplo: This is the least expensive option we have.
